The mission of the Banking and Finance B.Sc. degree program is to prepare students for employment in all the banking and financial sector of Iraq economy, the international market, and/or the pursuit of advanced degrees by providing comprehensive education in banking operations, financial markets, investment analysis, digital & communication skills, risk management and professional development opportunities. The program emphasizes modern financial practices, technological innovation, ethics and compliance to support the growth of the regional financial sector while preparing graduates for successful careers in the global financial marketplace.

By the end of this program, students will be able to:
- Apply fundamental principles of finance including time value of money, risk-return relationships, and capital structure optimization in various business contexts, ensuring effective asset diversification and strategic investment decision-making.
- Analyze financial statements and performance metrics to evaluate organizational financial health.
- Execute and evaluate banking operations including deposit management, lending procedures, and payment systems.
- Conduct comprehensive credits analysis and risk assessment for loan applications and investment decisions.
- Analyze and manage various types of financial risks including credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk.
- Apply banking regulations and compliance requirements in accordance with local and international banking standards.
- Communicate complex financial information effectively through written reports, presentations, and client consultations to diverse audiences.
- Apply ethical principles and professional standards in financial decision-making and client advisory services.
- Apply Leadership and teamwork skills in managing financial projects and cross-functional business initiatives.

Finance and Banking Department (FAB)
Finance and Banking Department consists of experienced faculty members who are dedicated in serving the students in terms of sharing the knowledge and enhancing technical skills in banking, finance and related fields.
The curriculum in the department is developed by subject matter experts to meet the expectations and standards of the industry. The department continuously works to carve the students to be creative, logical, analytical, ethical and expressive.
All students in the Finance and Banking Department will have mentors so that they get the opportunity to express their ideas. The department strives towards the overall development of all students by involving them in extra-curricular activities, club activities and industrial visits.
