National Workshop on Forex Market
In collaboration with VARINFX, the Department of Banking and Finance held a National Workshop titled: An Introduction to the Biggest Financial Market in the World (The Forex Market), held on 23rd November 2022.
The primary purpose of the workshop is to expose the students to a first-class, real world-business experience of the corporate world, as well as gain the opportunity to ask questions and clear some misconceptions regarding the practice of financial market trading in Kurdistan, especially those relating to the Forex market. To this aim, the department collaborated with VARINFX, one of the oldest brokers and trading partners in Kurdistan, to enlighten the audience on the business practice of trading in the world’s most prominent type of financial market in terms of trade volume (The Forex Market).
After the opening speech delivered by Dr. Abubakar Karaye, Lecturer in the Departments of Accounting, Banking, and Finance, the topics of the workshop were discussed by the CEO of VARINFX, Mr. Gezim Vuca, followed by two of the leading staff of VARINFX: Miss Hizreen Safaree, and Miss Zaynab Abbas, who is also a proud student of the Department of Banking and Finance of TIU.
No stone was left unturned in the workshop as several question and answer sessions were held throughout, with the CEO of VARINFX, Mr. Gezim Vuca answering all the questions that were asked by both the students and the staff that attended the workshop.
The last session of the workshop was presented by Dr. Waqar Ahmed, Head of Department of Accounting and the Department of Banking and Finance. He extended his gratitude and presented a certificate of appreciation to the CEO of VARINFX and two of his staff mentioned above.
