Banking for a Better Tomorrow: Celebration of International Day of Banks

On 4th December 2023, the Department of Finance and Banking, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Tishk International University (TIU) joyously celebrated International Day of Banks, focusing on raising awareness about the significance of the day and expressing gratitude to our faculty members for their invaluable contributions to shaping the educational journey of our students.

International Day of Banks was officially declared by the United Nations General Assembly on December 4th, to recognize the substantial impact that multilateral development banks and other international development banks have on financing sustainable development. Furthermore, the day was set to acknowledge the critical contribution that the banking systems of United Nations member states make to the enhancement of living standards.

The primary goal of the celebration was to create awareness among students about International Bank Day and its importance in recognizing the pivotal role of banks in our global economy. Additionally, we aimed to express our heartfelt appreciation for the tireless efforts and dedication of our faculty members in imparting knowledge and shaping the academic and professional lives of our students.

Part of the celebration was dedicated to expressing gratitude to our faculty members. Each faculty member received a personalized appreciation note, highlighting their unique contributions to the department’s success. Additionally, a small token of appreciation, in the form of chocolates, was presented to each faculty member.
