Industrial Guest Lecture on “Redefining Finance: Exploring the Fintech Revolution”

On 22nd of April 2024 Department of Accounting, Banking and Finance organized an enlightening industrial guest lecture on the topic “Redefining Finance: Exploring the Fintech Revolution.” Mr. Kardo Dlir Farhan, the Head of Public Relations and Corporate Communication at NassWallet Digital Banking was the resource person. He provided valuable insights into the rapidly evolving field of financial technology (Fintech) and its implications for the banking and finance industry.

Mr. Kardo’s expertise in the field, coupled with his decades of experience, enriched the learning experience of the students. Mr. Kardo began by providing an overview of Fintech, highlighting its role in revolutionizing traditional financial services through innovative technological solutions. He discussed about the fundamentals of Fintech, the various Fintech applications, including mobile banking, digital wallets, and blockchain technology.

One of the notable aspects of his lecture was Mr. Kardo’s clarification on the Central Bank of Iraq’s regulations concerning students opening bank accounts and its substitutes i.e. digital wallets with financial service companies like NassWallet. He addressed many concerns or misconceptions of the students regarding Fintech and emphasized the importance of adhering to legal guidelines.

Mr. Kardo concluded the lecture by discussing future trends in Fintech, such as the rise of artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and cybersecurity measures. He encouraged students to stay updated with technological advancements and explore career opportunities in the dynamic Fintech sector.
