On March 30, 2022, the Accounting, Banking and Finance department conducted the National Workshop with collaboration with Computer Engineering Department in room no. 302 @ Education building.
The speaker Mr. Bayar Shahab, PhD, Business Development Manager at NassWallet Digital Banking, Erbil. Mr. Bayar has received his PhD. from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy, is an entrepreneur with 7+ years of experience in the Banking and FinTech industry and has carried out and provided technical consultancy, training delivery, and project management for several organizations and businesses.
Mr. Bayar explained the insight of Iraq’s banking and financial, available Payment service providers, payment methods, issues, and challenges in banking.
Mr. Bayar Shahab focused on financial services, financial inclusion, role and responsibilities of the central bank, mobile money payment service providers, and more topics.
Mr. Bayar Shahab explained about his company’s product like Nasswallet which is created to provide greater financial access to the people of Iraq to make the leap from cash to a cashless society and also stated that NassWallet is a digital bank that is made for a new era – providing services such as money transfer, business services, merchant payment, salary and bulk disbursement, bill payment, loyalty and rewards with its own Mastercard among other services.
The aim of the national workshop is to make the goodwill of financial product in Iraq and Kurdistan market. So that the consumer can easily use it and make government to start investments on financial market and e commerce and also workshop based on the payment Industry in IRAQ that has seen the increase in growth in the last couple of years, having a higher number of bank account holders, eWallets, ATMs, banks, POSs, and financial institutions.
