IRD Students Attend AVA TV Political Program

On 27 October 2024, the 3rd grade students of International Relations and Diplomacy Department, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics (FASE) at Tishk International University (TIU) attended the AVA TV media political program. The program aimed at enhancing the media and diplomatic skills of the students.

The program was presented by Dr. Farouk Taofiq, which featured the 9th and 10th episodes, and the 9th episode had the title: “The Impact of some Political Philosophers on the Drafting of American Constitution.” In this context, the presenter highlighted the intellectual and philosophical influence and impact of Thomas Hobbes, John Locke and Baron de Monstequieu on the formation of the American Constitution. This, according to him, provided the basis upon which the American Constitution is being deeply analysed and interpreted. He also took the students through some of the constitutional articles.

In episode 10, the program concentrated on the American citizens’ rights and laws, especially those ones that have for many times been reviewed to accommodate the political, economic, social and cultural spheres of American life. The students participated actively and benefitted from the program, as it is relevant to IRD 353 Media and Diplomacy. Finally, the themes of the episodes are in line with the United Nations SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
