On March 20th, 2024, Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa, the Head of International Relations and Diplomacy Department, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Tishk International University, attended the Newroz reception in the Parliament of the United Kingdom, which was organized by Mr. Karwan Jamal Tahir, the Kurdistan Regional Government's Representative to the United Kingdom, to celebrate Kurdish culture's significant festival and the beginning of the Kurdish Year and Spring. On March 19th, 2024, the Head of International Relations and Diplomacy Department, Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa, visited the Kurdistan Regional Government's Representative to the United Kingdom, Mr. Karwan Jamal Tahir, and discussed ways for collaboration, especially in boosting the academic/educational growth and development of the Kurdistan Region. Similarly, strategies for helping the Kurdish community or the diaspora Kurds in the United Kingdom through Mr. Karwan's influence and 'good offices' were also discussed.

On March 18th, 2024, the Head of International Relations and Diplomacy Department, Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa attended the Newroz reception, which was organized by Kurdish Progress and hosted by the Speaker of the United Kingdom's Parliament, Sir Lindsay Harvey Hoyle. The reception brought together dignitaries from all walks of life, especially from the Kurdish Community/Diaspora and important personalities from across the political spectrum in the United Kingdom. Newroz is an important event in the Kurdish culture, which marks the beginning of the Kurdish Year and spring.

On March 18th, 2024, the Head of International Relations and Diplomacy Department, Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa, met with Mr. Sarbaz Barznji, the Mayor of London Borough of Lambeth in the United Kingdom. The meeting centered on fruitful discussion of areas of mutual interest and benefit, especially those that could positively impact the UK and Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

On March 13th, 2024, the Head of International Relations and Diplomacy Department, Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa, participated in the commemoration of the Halabja chemical bombardment, which took place on 13 March 1988 to remember the Kurds that were killed as a result of it. The event had in attendance dignitaries from the Kurdish community in London, including the Labour Councillor of the London Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Mr. Bakhtiar Mam Sheikh, Kurdistan Regional Government's High Representative to the United Kingdom, Mr. Karwan Jamal Tahir, and Mr. Rebaz Barznji, the Mayor of London Borough of Lambeth. On March 18th, 2024, the Head of International Relations and Diplomacy Department, Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa, met with Dr. Haval Abubakir, the Governor of Sulaymaniyah Governorate, Kurdistan Region, Iraq, who was on a visit to the United Kingdom, and discussed strategically important issues that center on security, peace and development of the Kurdistan Region. They further discussed other areas of productive collaboration.

The Head of International Relations and Diplomacy Department, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Tishk International University, Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa, met with Mr. Bakhtiar Mam Sheikh, Labour Councillor of the London Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea on March 16th, 2024, in London. The meeting afforded Dr. Mohammad Salih the opportunity to thank Mr. Bakhtiar for commemorating the Halabja Day. They discussed ways in which they could collaborate, given his wealth of experience, as this will be of benefit to the Faculty, IRD Department and students.
