The start of a university life for first year students is always very difficult, meeting new people, new place, and not to mention the stress of being called a “Qaz”. But thanks to the second, third, and forth year students of Faculty of Economics and administrative sciences, their first day was a little different than an ordinary freshman’s day when they were welcomed at the university entrance with flowers and sweets. Mr. Atabek Shadmanov has conducted a seminar on “Designing a Forecast Model for Economic Growth of Japan Using Competitive (Hybrid ANN vs Multiple Regression) Models”. All faculty members have participated this seminar. The paper aims at identifying the practicability of Neural Networks in economics field of study. Even though it is a rather new approach in forecasting econometric models it is becoming more and more attractive when compared with classical econometric models. On December 19th ,2015 Ms Shlair Abdulkhaleq presented a seminar on “ Reclaiming Evolution (2000) by Dugger and Sherman who argue that enabling myths are created by powerful classes of the society as a social control mechanism to legitimize some unfair market practices and to justify political agenda that preserves the economic benefits of the status quo and solidifies its vested interest. Ms Shlair also discussed how such enabling myths can penetrate far deeper than propaganda in a society’s culture until it becomes part of the society’s ideological evolution.
Tishk International university Faculty of Administrative sciences and Economics arranged a seminar for 4th year students on “Domestic Violence and Violence against Women”. The social activity club of Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics (FASE) organized a trip to Korek Mountain On Saturday, December 9th,2015 . The resort which located 12km away from Bekhal town popular among locals and tourist for its waterfalls and 95km form Erbil, in a mountainous region with its breathtaking views. The mountain was accessible through a 3.7km, approximately 12 minutes ride in a Teleferic (Gondala cable car) offering stunning panoramic view of the mountain. Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics (FASE) organized a visit to SARDAR GROUP for JAGUAR and LAND ROVER (JLR) with 3rd year students of International Marketing. The Dean of FASE Mr. Fatih Cura became the instrumental with this idea to have the out of class learning being in the industry. The objective of this program was to get students exposed to the current challenges automobile industry is facing in Kurdistan. On Wednesday December 2nd 2015, the Social Organization Club organized a visit to the orphanage .Thirty-eight second year FESE students were accompanied by one lecturer and three research assistants . The arrival was greeted by all the children and some of the volunteers working at the orphan home . It was very clear by the Children's facial expressions that they were really happy to see our students . Students had a chance to intact with the children and play games with them. Presents were presented to the children , both the children and students really enjoy the trip, and are looking forward to more activities with them.
