International Workshop on The Future of the Kurds in the Middle East: Challenges and Opportunities

On 10th May 2022, the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, Faculty of Administrative Sciences at Tishk International University, organised an International Workshop on “The Future of the Kurds in the Middle East: Challenges and Opportunities”. The workshop was attended by students, university staff and other local universities’ academics and media.

The workshop consisted of two sessions, followed by a Q & A session between the speakers and participants.

In the first session, Prof. Dr Othman Ali from Sakarya University-Turkey discussed the last decision of the Iraqi Federal Court on controlling the natural resources in the Kurdistan Region by the Iraqi government and its implications for the future of the Kurdistan Region.

Dr Shokr Abobekr from Soran University discussed the visit of the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister to the UK during the second session of the workshop. He highlighted the importance of the visit and the international opportunities for the Kurdistan Region in the future.
