TIU IRD: Fostering Research Excellence
On October 30, 2025, the International Relations and Diplomacy Department at Tishk International University successfully organized an international workshop titled “Conducting Systematic Literature Reviews and Bibliometric Analysis with VOSviewer.” The workshop aimed to equip students and researchers with advanced research skills, particularly in performing structured literature reviews and visualizing scholarly data through bibliometric tools.
Insights and Skills for Academic Research
The workshop was delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Todor Yalamovit from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Bulgaria, a distinguished expert in academic research methodologies and bibliometric analysis. Dr. Yalamovit led two comprehensive sessions focusing on systematic approaches to reviewing literature, identifying research gaps, and utilizing VOSviewer to map networks of scientific publications.
The workshop aligns with SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, as it promotes academic integrity, transparent research practices, and high-quality knowledge production. Dr. Dana Sajadi, Head of the International Relations and Diplomacy Department, served as the moderator, facilitating discussions and enhancing interaction between the presenter and the participants.
Participation and Impact
A total of 21 participants attended the workshop, including students, faculty members, and researchers. The event not only provided valuable methodological skills but also highlighted TIU’s continuous commitment to strengthening research capacity and fostering international academic collaboration.
The event concluded with a warm vote of thanks from Dr. Dana Sajadi, who expressed appreciation for the speaker’s expertise and the active engagement of participants. Certificates of appreciation were presented to acknowledge the contributions of both the presenter and attendees.
