IRD Students visited European Union delegation in Kurdistan Region

On December 17th, the students of International Relations and Diplomacy Department visited the EU delegation in Kurdistan Region Mr. Vincent Guillaume Poupeau. Mr. Vincent Guillaume Poupeau gave a brief on European Union and specifically mentioned a detailed expectations on EU's projects in Iraq and Kurdistan Region. As he highlighted, EU has a lot of Humanitarian projects in Iraq in partnership with other International and local partners. Most of these projects are humanitarian and agricultural. Students later asked many questions related to their lecture and also to their topics.

International Relations students visit Kurdistan Parliament

As a tradition of the department, every year a group of students from the International Relations and Diplomacy department pay a field visit to the Kurdistan parliament. On December 11th. 2019, accompanied by the head of department and a number of staff from the department first and second year students visited Parliament. The visit which was well-organized by the Parliament Presidency included a presentation by Mr. Hemn Hawrami, deputy parliament speaker in which he covered Parliament Diplomacy and it was followed by a very instructive question and answer session where students came up with timely questions and the deputy speaker provided [...]

Coexistence and Ethnic-based discrimination in the Kurdistan Region workshop

In collaboration with the Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO), International Relation and Diplomacy department will organize a joint workshop entitled ' Coexistence and Ethnic-based discrimination in the Kurdistan Region'. The workshop aims to address the most timely topic of coexistence in the Kurdistan Region and issue around ethnic-based discrimination especially, in the post-ISIS era. GBV and Gender Equality: an upcoming joint workshop

International Relations and Diplomacy department in collaboration with Y-Peer Network will organize a joint workshop entitled ' GBV and Gender Equality'. The workshop will be held on December 18.2019 which coincides with 40th anniversary of the adaptation of Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) back in 1979.
