Dr. Hawraman Ali from the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of TIU recently published a book entitled: The Iraqi Kurds and the Cold War: regional politics, 1958-1975. On December 24th, IRD students presented their posters about Ancient and Modern Political Thinkers. The posters had a healthy mix of both ancient and modern thinkers. Thirteen female students were encouraged and worked on female political thinkers. Most of them shared that it was a liberating experience for them. Some are motivated to follow in their footsteps. The presentation was presided over by Dr. Fatih Cura, the Dean of FASE. He patiently and with utmost attention visited each poster and interacted with the presenter. On December 4th, 2019, the International Relations Office of TIU in collaboration with the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy (IRD) of the University organised a workshop for the Consul General of the Republic of Korea to Kurdistan. The Consul General, Dr. Choi Kwang-Jin was first welcomed by the President of the University, Dr Idris Hadi, and Head of the International Relations Office, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş. International Relations and Diplomacy Department (IRD) of TIU together with Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO) arranged a workshop on “Coexistence and Ethnic-based Discrimination in the Kurdistan Region”. The workshop which was held on Thursday, December 28,2019, in the Main Building of TIU, was attended by students of the Faculty of Administrative Science and Economics and a number of PFO and TIU staff.
