The International Relations and Diplomacy Department organized a training course on how to use Microsoft Office in writing thesis for the students of the department. The training has been conducted by Mr. Bayad Sarwar the Research Assistant of International Relations and Diplomacy Department. He showed the students how to use Microsoft Office properly and efficiently during writing there graduation projects. Gender Based-Violence Seminar Presentation Mr. Bayad Sarwar presented a seminar on Gender-Based Violence on November 9th, 2022, where he explained GBV, its causes, types, effects and solutions. He explained Gender-Based Violence as harmful acts directed at an individual based on their gender. GBV is rooted in gender inequality, abuse of power and harmful norms. It is also the act of inflicting violence on someone because of that person’s gender. The International Relations and Diplomacy Department sent a delegation, comprising the Head of the Department, Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa and Mr. Bayad Sarwar to represent it at the Annual Conference of the STOP Organization, held on November 8th, 2022, at Dedeman Hotel, Erbil. The theme of the conference was: Monitoring and Evaluation - The Reform Steps of KRG. Workshop on the World Freedom Day The International Relations and Diplomacy Department organized a workshop on the occasion of World Freedom Day on November 9th, 2022. The World Freedom Day was declared first on November 9th, 2001, by the Former President of the United States of America, George W. Bush as a federal observance day to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of communist rule in Central and Eastern Europe in 1989. Seminar Presentation on the Prophet and Diplomacy The Head of International Relations and Diplomacy Department, Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa presented a seminar on the Holy Prophet and Diplomacy on November 7th, 2022, in which he traced the historical trajectory of how Prophet Muhammad used diplomacy as an instrument for promoting peace, tolerance, accommodation and representation during his prophetic period. Successful Completion of Qualitative Research Training Course and Presentation of Certificates The International Relations and Diplomacy Department successfully completed 24 hours of Qualitative Research Training Course, aimed at enabling researchers, especially TIU academic staff to learn the basics of qualitative research and the use of NVIVO software in qualitative data analysis. The training started on 1st September, 2022 spread across 6 weeks, with the last week, held on 3rd November, 2022. The 1st week had Asst.
