Internal Seminar on Human Resource Management

The Business and Management Department, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Tishk International University, organized an internal seminar on Human Resource Management for Dr. Roopal Shrivastava, Lecturer of Human Resource Management at the Department of Business and Management.

In this seminar, Dr. Roopal Shrivastava presented how neuroscience findings over the past decade have led to a new paradigm for improving students’ learning. The simple but essential shift is our understanding that if the brain is prepared to learn, greater success can be expected.

The brain needs the following to function effectively:

1. Hydration

2. Diet (glucose)

3. Exercise – Exercise increases the production of neurotransmitters that help with: attention, focus, concentration, motivation for learning, patience, and mood.

4. Sleep

5. Oxygen

The researcher also discussed her work-in-progress paper with the audience, focusing on different parameters. The beneficial effects of exercise on brain function were explained in the seminar. The neuroscience of exercise is a growing research area dedicated to furthering our understanding of the effects of exercise on mental health. The crucial role of oxygen in memory and learning was also discussed in this seminar.

The Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics initially launched with the Department of Business and Management amid the establishment of Tishk International University in 2008. Three additional departments were formed in 2014-2015: Accounting Department, Banking and Finance Department, and the International Relations and Diplomacy Department.

Currently, our faculty is ranked as the most demanded faculty of the university, comprising the highest number of students. This is highly accredited to how efficiently our students are equipped with the highest standards of knowledge and soft and hard skills required to fill the market gap and prepare the best graduates, an essential element for national development and prosperity.
