Erbil, Iraq: On September 23, 2025, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics (FASE) and FASE Charity at Tishk International University (TIU) mobilised a significant community wide effort, utilising over 150 students and staff members. The large-scale project delivered substantial infrastructural and environmental improvement to Laya Primary School, underscoring TIU’s commitment to tangible social responsibility.

Emporing Education and Building a Sustainable Future

This initiative was strategically designed to create an immediate and lasting impact. It combined urgent infrastructural upgrades with long term investment environmental health, directly addressing both educational needs and community well-being.

Key Achievements and Impact

The project’s success is reflected in these measurable outcomes: Enhanced Learning Environment: Painted over 1,400 m² of school facilities with fresh paint and donated 140 new student tables, directly improving the daily educational experience.

Improving Health and Safety: provided a consistent source of clean, drinkable water by extending the water supply and installing new filtration units. Safety was further bolstered by supplying six comprehensive first-aid kits to the school’s administrative offices.

Promoting Environmental Sustainability: Advanced the ‘Clean and Love Kurdistan’ campaign by planting 100 trees and establishing a new, efficient garden watering system to ensure the long-term health of the green spaces.

Unprecedented Volunteer Engaging: Successfully engaged 150 dedicated TIU students and staff members, demonstrating a powerful culture of civic engagement and collective action.

The project was executed under the esteemed guidance of TIU leadership, including Prof. Dr. Idrees Hadi, Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu-Orabi, Prof. Dr. Mehemet Ozdemir, Mr. Karwan Sherwani, Dr. Mohammed Abdulghani, and Dr. Hamdi Serin.
