On May 10th, 2026, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Tishk International University organized the 10th Annual Clean and Love Kurdistan Campaign in collaboration with the Kasnazan Municipality. The campaign aimed to increase environmental awareness among students and encourage active participation in protecting and preserving the environment through community service activities.
The event witnessed the participation of the Head of Kasnazan Municipal, Vice President Dr. Fatih Cura, Head of Social Activities Dr. Hamdi Serin, other lecturers, research assistants, and enthusiastic students, who gathered together to support the initiative and contribute to creating a cleaner and healthier environment. The cleaning activity took place in the Kasnazan area.
During the campaign, participants successfully collected more than 100 bags of trash, including plastic waste, glass bottles, paper, and other harmful materials, demonstrating effective waste management practices. This activity directly supports SDG 15 (Life on Land) by reducing pollution on land, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through proper waste collection and disposal, and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable local environment.
The activity provided students with an opportunity to experience the importance of environmental responsibility and understand the direct impact of pollution on the community and surrounding ecosystem. The campaign also strengthened teamwork, cooperation, and social responsibility among students. By actively participating in the cleaning activities, students demonstrated their commitment to serving the community and promoting a culture of environmental protection. The initiative encouraged participants to become role models in society and inspired others to take positive actions toward keeping public places clean and sustainable.
Faculty members praised the dedication and active involvement of the students throughout the campaign. They emphasized that such initiatives play an important role in building environmental awareness and developing a sense of civic responsibility among university students.
The 10th Annual Clean and Love Kurdistan Campaign reflects the continuous efforts of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Tishk International University to support sustainability, environmental education, and community engagement.
