The Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Business and Management Department organized a workshop on “Immersive Technology: Types, Applications and trends” The workshop was conducted by Mr. Aws Yahya, Lecturer of Management Information Systems at the Department of Business and Management.

In this seminar, Mr. Aws Yahya presented the importance of Immersive Technologies which shape the future of consumers, business owners, and governments.

Immersive technologies are shaping the future by giving a platform (reality) to both consumers and business owners and governments to enrich the current experience, by providing an alternative (digital), as in virtual reality (VR) or adding additional layers to the reality, as in augmented reality (AR).

The workshop also discussed the concept of immersion and how it is used in technology, and shed light on its applications such as VR, AR, mixed reality(MR), extended reality(XR), holograms, digital twin and telepresence.

Immersive technologies create distinct experiences by combining the physical world with digital or simulated reality. Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are two principal types of immersive technologies. These technologies share many of the same qualities that were explained in the workshop conducted.
