The mission of the Accounting B.Sc. degree program is to prepare students for employment in all the sectors of Iraq economy, the international market, and/or the pursuit of advanced degrees by providing competent and ethical accounting practice, comprehensive theoretical knowledge, digital skills, communication skills, research skills and professional development opportunities. The program emphasizes international accounting standards, ethical decision-making, and technological proficiency to meet the evolving needs of the global marketplace while contributing to the economic development of the region.

By the end of this program, students will be able to:
- Prepare, critically analyze and report financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic decision-making.
- Interpret and apply taxation laws to assess, manage, and optimize tax liabilities for individuals and businesses, ensuring strategic compliance in evolving regulatory contexts.
- Independently plan, apply and evaluate auditing principles and techniques to ensure compliance with evolving audit standards.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex financial Problems.
- Integrate emerging accounting technologies and software effectively into accounting practices.

Accounting Department (ACC)
The Accounting Department was established in 2014. Since, then it has been tasked with preparing competent accountants who have an accounting knowledge that keeps pace with the development of economic units. It also aims to prepare staff with qualifications suitable for employment in firms and establishments where accounting may be specialization or inclusive. The curriculum in the department is developed by subject matter experts to meet the expectations and standards of the organization/ industry.
The department continuously works to carve the students to be creative, logical, analytical, ethical and expressive. The department consists of experienced faculty members who are dedicated to serve the students in terms of sharing knowledge and enhancing technical skills in the accounting field. All students in the department will have mentors so that they get the opportunity to express their ideas. Department strives towards the overall development of all students by involving them in extra-curricular activities, club activities and industrial visits. Department follows all rules and regulations that are directed in the Staff handbook and student handbook of Tishk International University.
