The Accounting Department was established in 2014.  Since, then it has been tasked with preparing competent accountants who have an accounting knowledge that keeps pace with the development of economic units. It also aims to prepare staff with qualifications suitable for employment in firms and establishments where accounting may be specialization or inclusive. The curriculum in the department is developed by subject matter experts to meet the expectations and standards of the organization/ industry.

The department continuously works to carve the students to be creative, logical, analytical, ethical and expressive. The department consists of experienced faculty members who are dedicated to serve the students in terms of sharing knowledge and enhancing technical skills in the accounting field.  All students in the department will have mentors so that they get the opportunity to express their ideas. Department strives towards the overall development of all students by involving them in extra-curricular activities, club activities and industrial visits. Department follows all rules and regulations that are directed in the Staff handbook and student handbook of Tishk International University.

 

 

 

Objectives

  • Accounting graduates will exhibit a base of knowledge, skills and professional orientation consistent with the accounting profession. 
  • Accounting graduates will demonstrate ethical decision-making inconsistent with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) AND IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) as future accountants
  • Accounting graduates will demonstrate critical, analytical problem solving and logical thinking which is inherent in the profession 
  • Accounting graduates will apply accounting theoretical knowledge practically by understanding the needs of the Industry.
  • Accounting graduates will exhibit self-discipline, consistency, accuracy and proactivity after completion of their graduation.
