Visit to 4Bridges for Collaboration

To strengthen the bond between academia and the industry, Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Aras, the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics (FASE) at Tishk International University (TIU) and Dr. Barham Haidar Ali, the Head of the Civil Engineering Department at TIU, visited 4Bridges Construction Company, a prominent player in the local business landscape. During the visit, both sides discussed the pivotal role of industry-academia collaboration in bolstering the country’s socio-economic development and explored potential areas of cooperation.

The visit was part of a broader effort by TIU to forge strong connections with industry partners and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications. The Dean and the Head of Department were warmly received by Mr. Haval M. Salih, the CEO of 4Bridges. Central to the discussions was the recognition of the symbiotic relationship between academic institutions and industry. The leaders highlighted that a strong partnership could lead to mutually beneficial outcomes.

Prof. Aras, the Dean of FASE stated, “In today’s dynamic world, it’s essential for universities and businesses to collaborate closely. By doing so, we can create synergy and harness the collective power of innovation and knowledge to drive socio-economic development in the country.”

The talks delved into specific areas of collaboration that could yield substantial benefits for both TIU and 4Bridges. Potential avenues discussed included joint research projects, internship programs for students, faculty consultancy, and shared resources for training and development.

Both parties left the meeting with a strong commitment to further explore and formalize these collaboration opportunities. As the bonds between academia and industry continue to strengthen, it is expected that such collaborations will serve as a catalyst for the socio-economic development of the country, driving innovation, creating job opportunities, and enriching the educational experiences of students at TIU.
