Orientation Day for 1st Year Students

The Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Tishk International University (TIU) held an orientation program for its new students on the 11th of January, 2023. After the national anthem, all academic staff and student representatives were introduced to the students. The Dean of the Faculty,  Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Aras, then took the stage to give a speech and welcomed the new students to the university and the faculty, expressing his excitement for the students to embark on their academic journey. He spoke about the opportunities and resources available at the university and encouraged the students to make the most of their time at TIU.

The Dean, Prof. Osman, also spoke about the importance of hard work and dedication in achieving success in their studies and encouraged the students to set ambitious goals for themselves. He also highlighted the importance of teamwork, reminding the students that they would be working closely with their peers and professors in the coming years. He wished the students great success in their studies and future endeavours.

Following the Dean’s speech, the heads of the departments Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa (International Relations and Diplomacy Department)Dr. Waqar Ahmad (Accounting Department, and Banking and Finance Department), Mr. Fayeq Ali (Business and Management Department, and Marketing and Entrepreneurship Department) took the stage to give brief speeches, introducing themselves and their departments and highlighting the opportunities available to students. They also gave the students tips on how to make the most out of their academic journey.

The faculty-student representative, Hevi Khano, also gave a speech and welcomed the new students to the university and the faculty.

After the speeches, Dr. Hamdi Serin, Dean of Student Representative of the Faculty, took the stage to share a presentation about the various clubs and social activities available to the students at Tishk International University. He highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities in the overall university experience and encouraged the students to get involved in at least one club or organization. Dr. Serin discussed the options available, such as sports clubs, music clubs, debate clubs, and volunteer organizations. He also mentioned that many clubs and units organize tournaments and events throughout the year, allowing students to showcase their talents and build friendships.

After the presentation of Dr. Hamdi, the students were taught about the various tools and resources available to them at the university, including how to use their university email, the student information system, how exams work, and how to use Turnitin. The orientation program provided the students with a comprehensive understanding of the resources and support systems available at the university, which will help them in their academic journey.
