Orientation Day for 1st Year Students, 2023-2024 Academic Year

The Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics (FASE) at Tishk International University (TIU) held an orientation program for its new students on the 7th of December 2023. Dr. Hamdi Serin, Head of Social Activities, took the stage to deliver a speech, welcoming the new students to the university and the faculty. He expressed his excitement for the students as they embark on their academic journey, highlighting the opportunities and resources available at TIU. Dr. Hamdi Serin also introduced the administration and academic staff of the faculty, along with the student representatives.

Following Dr. Hamdi’s presentation, the students were provided with information about various tools and resources available to them at the university. Mr. Ibrahim Housam explained the student information system in detail and demonstrated how to use it in their university journey. He also provided insights into the usage of Turnitin. Ms. Heba Srud, then discussed the examination rules and the disciplinary committee of TIU, emphasizing the details found in the student handbook to make the students aware of their responsibilities during their university journey.

Subsequently, Ms. Thikra Mohammed talked about the university’s website, guiding students on how to find news, announcements, exam schedules, and other detailed information about their departments. She also discussed the availability of lecture notes on the university website, where students can access course materials and slides.

Following the informational sessions, Mr. Nyaz Abdullah presented various clubs and social activities available to students at Tishk International University. He stressed the importance of extracurricular activities in the overall university experience, encouraging students to actively participate in clubs. Mr. Nyaz mentioned that many clubs and units organize tournaments and events throughout the year, providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents and build friendships.

The orientation program provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the resources and support systems available at the university, enhancing their preparedness for the academic journey ahead.
