Seminar on Cultivating a Creative Mindset: Breaking Through Mental Barriers

The Departments of Accounting, Banking and Finance, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Tishk International University (TIU) organized an internal seminar titled: “Cultivating a Creative Mindset: Breaking through Mental Barriers”. The seminar was delivered by the Head of Department, Professor Ghousia Khatoon.

The seminar provided a comprehensive overview of creativity and innovation emphasizing the multifaced and significant impact of innovation and creativity on the global business domains, including accounting, business, social sciences, and humanities. The presenter highlighted that ‘creativity is not an option, it’s an absolute necessity’ which is exactly what most of the CEO’s around the world are using to solve complex problems around the world.

The seminar equipped the participants with practical and real-life issues. It threw light on strategies and insightful skills fostering teamwork and collaborations since great things are never done by one person rather by team of people. The attendees were also urged to overcome and mitigate the effect of creativity killers. Therefore, factors such as fear of failure, procrastination, self-sabotage, financial insecurity, and deadline pressure could impede generation of novels ideas, as such should be avoided.

The presenter also conducted the games on creativity and the winners of the games were awarded with prizes by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Mr. Karwan Sherwani. The winners of the games were Mr. Karwan Sherwani, Vice Dean, Dr. Armayau Alhaji Sani, Lecturer, Ms. Sara and Mr. Niyaz the research assistants of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics. A big congratulations to all the winners.
