5th International Conference in Accounting, Business, Economics, and Politics (ICABEP 2023)
The Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics (FASE) at Tishk International University (TIU) organized the 5th International Conference in Accounting, Business, Economics, and Politics (ICABEP 2023) in Institute of Management, University of Szczecin, Poland, in collaboration with Salahaddin University-Erbil, College of Administration and Economics, and University of Szczecin, Poland on September 25th-26th, 2023.
The conference was graced by the presence of respected dignitaries from Prof. Dr. Hab. Waldemar Tarczyński, President, University of Szczecin, Poland, Assist. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head, Board of Trustees, Tishk International University, Erbil, Mr. Ziyad Raoof, Representative of Kurdistan Region in Poland, University, Prof. Dr. Abdulkarim Karim Representative of President of Salahaddin University, Prof. Dr. Ahlam Wali, Representative of College of Administration and Economics Salahaddin University, Erbil, Dr Hab. Kinga Flaga-Gieruszyńska, Prof. US, Professor US, Vice-Rector, University of Szczecin, Poland, Prof. Hab. Dr. Kesra Nermand, Director, Institute of Management, University of Szczecin, Poland, Mr. Karwan Sherwani, Vice Dean of Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics. Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa, Head of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, Dr. Waqar Ahmad, Scientific Secretary, ICABEP, Presidents of other universities and distinguished guests, keynote speakers, authors, presenters, academicians, deans, lecturers, and media also attended the conference.
The conference commenced at 10:00 AM with the National Anthem of Iraq, Kurdistan region and Poland, followed by a welcome speech by the conference speaker, Dr. Aleksandra Klich, Head of Legal Clinic, Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Szczecin, Prof. Dr. Hab. Waldemar Tarczyński, President, University of Szczecin, Poland also welcomed the guests and discussed the academic and institutional points of strength that give TIU the outreach it has. He also commended the ongoing dedication and rigorous work put forth by the University’s Rectorate and Higher Management in enhancing TIU’s future academic and infrastructure quality.
During the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hab. Waldemar Tarczyński delivered a speech and spoke about strengthening relations between TIU and the University of Szczecin through further collaborations.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head, Board of Trustees, Tishk International University, welcomed and appreciated staff members for organising the conference in the Institute of Management, University of Szczecin, Poland and appreciated the effort of Dr. Kesra Nermand. He also explained the current status of Tishk International University, Erbil with all information regarding the faculties, staff, and accreditation.
Mr. Ziyad Raoof, addressed the audience by recognizing the collaboration between Kurdistan and Poland education system. He focused on students’ involvement to obtaining more exchange programs, conferences, workshops, activities between the Polish universities and the universities in the Kurdistan Region. He admired Tishk International University for organising the conference in Poland and emphasized his hope to see more of such collaborations in the future.
Prof. Dr. Abdulkarim Karim, representative of the President of Salahaddin University, Erbil congratulated the university authorities on this achievement. Prof. Dr. Ahlam Wali, Representative of College of Administration and Economics Salahaddin University, Erbil mentioned about past collaborations and assignments conducted between their faculty and the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Tishk International University with its the outstanding performance and achievements in organizing conferences and other scientific activities. She also mentioned future prospects including international universities, and congratulated the entire team of ICABEP.
The conference hosted four keynote speakers. Prof. Dr. Inż. Jaroslaw Korpysa, Prof. US, Director Doctoral School, University of Szczecin, Chair of the Scientific Committee UNESCO Chair for Social Sustainability, University of Szczecin, Poland, Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa, Head, International Relational and Diplomacy Department, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Tishk International University, Erbil, Prof. Dr. Ghousia Khatoon, Head, Accounting Department, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Tishk International University, Erbil
Prof. Dr. Inż. Krzysztof Kompa as the first keynote speaker present on the Key Drivers of Dividend Payouts. A case study of Polish energy companies. Presentation moderated by Mr. Kadhim Saeed Alwa.
Dr. Hab. Jaroslaw Korpysa, Prof. US, as the second keynote speaker, dealt with the Decision Criteria and Determining Factors Importance Validation for Sustainability of Entrepreneurial Startups, moderated by Dr. Waqar Ahmad
Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa as the third keynote speaker, presented on The Middle East’s Predominant Issue, moderat bedy Mr. Dana Sajadi
Prof. Dr. Ghousia Khatoon as the foruth keynote speaker presented on Empowering the Underprivileged – A Peep into the Challenges and Strategies, moderated by Dr. Uma Shankar Singh
The ICABEP 2023 scientific secretary received 64 full manuscripts and abstracts in total. Among them, 60 abstracts were selected to present in the parallel sessions by the participants under the supervision of session chairs.
The parallel sessions started at 01:45 PM, on 25th September, and 12 PM on 26th September at six different classrooms including the conference hall. Virtual presentations were held by the international presenters from the Poland, Syria, India, Saudi Arabia, China, Philippines, South Africa and some other cities of Iraq and Kurdistan.
In the conference closing ceremony Assist Prof. Dr. Idrees Hadi expressed his content in the successful completion of the conference and offered feedback from the audience and researchers which will be the roadmap for future conferences under the name of ICABEP.
