Workshop on Global Entrepreneurship Week 2021

Tishk International University Faculty of Administrative Sciences and EconomicsBusiness and Management Department organized a workshop on “Global Entrepreneurship Week” in collaboration with Meraki Ventures Company-Erbil on November 10, 2021, at the Faculty of Education, Hall 302. The objectives of the program were to honor global entrepreneurship week and to provide a platform for entrepreneurs to share and exchange ideas.

The workshop commenced with the presence of Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdul Samad Salahuddin Ahmad, President, Tishk International University.  Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Vice President for the Academic Affairs, Dr. Fatih Cura Vice President for the Administration & Financial Affairs, Mr. Karwan H. Sherwani, Acting Dean, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics academicians, lecturers, and students.

There was an intriguing discussion between the students and the presenter’s and several students shared new business ideas, identifying potential creativity.

The workshop presenters with their affiliations are listed as follows:

 1. Mr. Safeen Raouf MBA, PMP®, B.E.

Safeen is a holder of Executive Master in Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Kurdistan – Hawler (UKH) as Top-ranked, Project Management Professional (PMP®) certified, and a Bachelor in civil engineering at Salahaddin University. A business consultant for AUB (American University of Beirut). A project management expert with 15 years of experience in construction projects.

2. Mr. Arian Hama Entrepreneur/ Marketing Consultant

Master in Business Administration and11 years of working experience as an entrepreneur, Mr. Hama covers the fields of retail, distribution, service, brand development & real estate. Mr. Arian also works as a marketing consultant and specializes in setting business marketing strategies, marketing plans, branding & designing marketing campaigns.

3. Yadgar Merani/ CEO and CO- Founder of LEZZO

As a business-tech enthusiast, Yadgar returned to Iraq and cofounded a Faswares software development startup, which mainly developed mobile games and applications. Fastwares, later on, became Lezzoo, an on-demand delivery service.

The entrepreneurs were awarded for their participation in the event as workshop presenters by Mr. Karwan H. Sherwani, Acting Dean, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics. This workshop successfully achieved the aim of representing Global Entrepreneurship Week and providing a platform for entrepreneurs to share and exchange ideas.

The Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics initially launched with the Department of Business and Management amid the establishment of Tishk International University in 2008. Three additional departments were formed in 2014-2015: Accounting Department, Banking and Finance Department, and the International Relations and Diplomacy Department.

Currently, our faculty is ranked as the most demanded faculty of the university, comprising the highest number of students. This is highly accredited to how efficiently our students are equipped, with the highest standards of knowledge, soft and hard employability skills required to fill the market gap and prepare the best graduates, an essential element for national development and prosperity.
