Tishk International University, through its Department of Business and Management, proudly participated in the First Annual Conference of the Ministry of Municipalities of Erbil, held over two days under the theme: “For the Sake of Sustainable Development of Erbil.” The event was organized in collaboration with Salahaddin University and Tishk International University, reflecting a strong partnership between academia and government.
The second day of the conference was held in the presence of His Excellency Sasan Auni, Minister of Municipalities and Tourism, and Dr. Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil. The event also witnessed the attendance of the President of Erbil Provincial Council, Deputy Governor, Mayor of Erbil Municipality, Director General of Water and Sewerage, various ministry advisors, representatives of multiple governmental institutions, university faculty members, engineers, and environmental experts.
The conference covered several pressing municipal topics, including:
* Road development and traffic organization
* Kurdish architectural patterns and decorations
* Renewable energy and air pollution
* Expansion of green spaces
* Building permits and design standards
* Waste and dust management
* Bureaucratic reform and administrative efficiency
* Fire prevention and safety strategies
* Sewerage system development and sustainability
Tishk International University made a significant contribution to the conference by presenting a scientific and practical research project aimed at improving municipal services, streamlining bureaucratic procedures, and advancing environmental protection efforts in Erbil.
This academic contribution highlights the university’s dedication to linking academic research with real-world governmental challenges, aligning with our mission to serve the community and support national development goals.
