On Thursday, December 12, 2024, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Tishk International University warmly welcomed its new first-year students through an engaging orientation program. This event aimed to provide students with essential guidance and insights to navigate their academic journey effectively and make the most of their university experience.

The event was graced by the presence of the President of Tishk International University, who delivered an inspiring message to the new students. Following this, Dr. Karwan Sherwani, Vice Dean of the Faculty, took the stage to introduce the various departments and their respective heads. He also provided valuable insights into the faculty’s goals and the opportunities available to students.

The program, then moved to a detailed introduction to the faculty’s curriculum, presented by Mr. Fayeq Ali, the Head of the Business and Management Department. Mr. Fayeq not only elaborated on the course structure, but also highlighted the University’s current accreditation and ongoing efforts to achieve additional recognition, reinforcing the faculty’s commitment to academic excellence.

The orientation program, then transitioned into a session led by Dr. Hamdi Serin, Head of Social Activities, along with the faculty’s dedicated assistants. Dr. Hamdi outlined the wide array of extracurricular activities designed to enrich student life, including table tennis, chess, football, picnics, hiking adventures, and more. These activities aim to foster a sense of community and encourage students to balance their academic pursuits with recreational and social engagement.

In addition to these sessions, the research assistants conducted practical workshops to familiarize students with key platforms and tools, such as the Student Information System (SIS), Turnitin for assignment submissions, University email usage, and accessing lecture materials uploaded by lecturers. These tutorials equipped students with the technical know-how needed to succeed in their studies.

The orientation program served as a comprehensive introduction to the vibrant academic and social environment at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics. It set the tone for a promising and productive academic year, ensuring that every student feels supported and well-prepared to embark on this new chapter of their lives.
