With hearts full of patriotism and a shared sense of environmental responsibility, students from the Interpersonal Dynamics and Character Building (IDCB) course at Tishk International University (TIU) joined forces for a vibrant project titled “Love Where You Live: Clean and Love Kurdistan.”
Conducted on May 11, 2025, this initiative focused on beautifying public spaces in Erbil through cleaning efforts and artistic expression, while encouraging fellow citizens to develop a stronger emotional connection to their homeland.
The students selected public parks, pedestrian areas, and neglected corners of the city to conduct their clean-up operation. Equipped with gloves, bags, brooms, and paint, the team spent an entire day removing litter, scrubbing benches, and planting flowers along footpaths.
They transformed dull or graffiti-covered walls by painting patriotic messages and murals, such as hearts wrapped in the Kurdish flag and slogans like “Kurdistan is Our Home—Let’s Keep It Clean.”
