On November 5, 2024, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics (FASE) at Tishk International University (TIU) hosted an engaging seminar titled “Honesty and Transparency in Communication: The Destructive Effects of Backbiting.” The seminar was led by Dr. Kenan Kapukaya, who captivated the audience by inviting students to participate in an insightful discussion. Dr. Kapukaya highlighted the essential role of honesty and explored the profound effects that lies and backbiting can have on both individuals and society, drawing from social and religious perspectives.

The seminar garnered strong interest, particularly from the students, who appreciated Dr. Kapukaya’s interactive approach. The session was originally scheduled for one hour but was extended due to the depth of the subject matter and the audience’s enthusiasm.

Due to the overwhelming interest and Dr. Kapukaya’s desire to explore the topic further, the faculty has arranged a second session to take place after the midterm examinations. This Part 2 will allow students to delve deeper into these crucial topics, reinforcing the faculty’s commitment to fostering open, ethical communication within the academic community.
