On June 22, 2025, as part of the Interpersonal Dynamics and Character Building (IDCB) course, students at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics (FASE) at Tishk International University have taken a remarkable step toward environmental preservation by launching the “Every Student Plants a Tree” initiative.
The project, organized under the supervision of course coordinator Dr. Hamdi Serin, encouraged each participating student to plant at least one tree in selected areas on campus and within the local community. The initiative was more than a symbolic gesture—it was a commitment to sustainability, environmental awareness, and future generations.
Students began the initiative by researching local plant species and identifying areas that would benefit from increased green cover. With the support of faculty members and local environmental experts, the team received guidance on proper planting techniques and environmental care.
“It felt amazing to contribute something real to the environment,” shared Mariam, one of the student organizers. “This tree will grow with us—it represents our responsibility and growth.”
Many students chose to dedicate their trees to specific causes: some in memory of a loved one, others as a symbol of hope or change. These personal connections made the project not only educational but deeply meaningful.
