In another inspiring initiative under the Interpersonal Dynamics and Character Building (IDCB) course, students from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Tishk International University (TIU) launched a meaningful project titled “Clean Water, Clean Future.”

Conducted on June 1, 2025, the campaign focused on delivering clean and safe drinking water to underserved communities, particularly schools located in the outskirts of Erbil, where access to clean water remains a challenge. Through their project, the students raised awareness about water quality issues, provided water containers and purification tools, and promoted better hygiene practices among schoolchildren.

The students were motivated by the realization that clean water is not a given for all, especially in rural or underfunded areas. After conducting field visits and interviews with school staff, the team identified Laya Basic School as a community in urgent need of water support.

They organized a small fundraising campaign and partnered with local shops to secure water tanks and portable filters. These were delivered directly to the school, along with a printed set of hygiene guidelines created by the students.

“We often take clean water for granted,” said student team member Ali. “But when you see children drinking from unclean sources, it reminds you that access to water is still a basic human right that’s being denied.”

The students didn’t just deliver clean water, they delivered knowledge. They led short awareness sessions with schoolchildren, demonstrating the importance of handwashing, using clean cups, and recognizing signs of water contamination.
