Class Representative Elections and First Meeting with Newly Elected Representatives

The Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Tishk International University (TIU) recently held representative elections for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade classes within the Business and Management, Accounting, Banking and Finance, and International Relations and Diplomacy (IRD) departments. Organized and overseen by research assistants, the election provided all eligible students the opportunity to nominate themselves and vote for their preferred representatives. Each elected representative won with a majority vote, signifying strong support from their peers.
Following the election of each grade representative, the following department representatives were selected to serve as advocates for their peers:
  • Ibrahim Dhaif as the representative for both the Accounting and Banking and Finance departments,
  • Dana Diyar for the Business and Management department,
  • Nechirvan Farhad for the IRD department, and
  • Karzan Mohammed as the faculty representative.
Shortly after the elections, the newly elected representatives were invited to a welcoming lunch meeting with the faculty’s research assistants and the head of social activities. In a warm and collaborative atmosphere, everyone shared ideas and insights on how to enhance student engagement and address concerns brought forward by students. The discussion underscored the significant role of class representatives in bridging the communication gap between students and faculty, aiming to improve both academic and social experiences throughout the year.
This meeting was not just a casual gathering; it marked the start of a collaborative effort. Representatives and faculty staff explored ways to make academic life smoother and more enriching for all students. From solving a variety of student concerns to planning dynamic events and activities, this partnership aims to bring a range of improvements that directly impact student life.
The elected representatives expressed eagerness to engage actively with their peers, gather valuable feedback, and support the faculty in organizing impactful events. This meeting marked the beginning of what promises to be an exciting academic year filled with constructive change, innovative events, and open dialogue.
The Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics extends its appreciation to all students for their invaluable contributions and active engagement. Their participation plays a crucial role in the success of our initiatives, and together, we look forward to making this academic year’s activities a meaningful and memorable experience.
