On June 15, 2025, as part of the FASE program’s Interpersonal Dynamics and Character Building initiative, students took meaningful action to improve their environment through the “Campus Green: Tree Planting Project.” This hands-on activity aimed to beautify the university campus while fostering a deeper awareness of environmental responsibility among students and staff.
With growing global concern over environmental degradation and climate change, this local effort highlighted the importance of taking small, consistent steps to protect natural resources. The students enthusiastically planted a variety of trees in strategic areas across the campus, contributing to both the visual appeal and ecological health of their surroundings.
More than a landscaping effort, the project was an educational and character-building experience. It provided students with the opportunity to understand the long-term value of sustainability, the importance of green spaces in urban areas, and their personal role in environmental stewardship. The initiative also encouraged teamwork, planning, and responsibility, as students worked together to ensure each tree was properly planted and cared for.
Faculty and university staff supported the activity, recognizing the broader message it sent to the academic community—that caring for the planet begins at home, and that the university environment can be both a place of learning and a model for ecological citizenship.
The “Campus Green” project was one of several impactful student initiatives featured in the FASE Poster Presentation. Each project focused on real-world values such as compassion, inclusion, service, and sustainability. By addressing both social and environmental needs, the students demonstrated their commitment to becoming not only educated graduates, but also responsible and engaged members of society.
Through this green initiative, the students left a lasting mark—not just on the landscape, but on the hearts and minds of everyone who witnessed their efforts. The newly planted trees will serve as a living reminder of the values they’ve cultivated through this project: growth, care, and a hopeful investment in the future.
