As part of the ongoing FASE Interpersonal Dynamics and Character Building program, students launched an inspiring and imaginative community project titled “My Emergency Kite.” Conducted on May 6, 2025, this initiative was designed to raise safety awareness among children in rural areas through a unique and symbolic tool: the kite.
Recognizing that children in under-resourced regions often lack access to critical safety education, the students developed an engaging approach to teach essential emergency practices. Kites—simple, joyful, and familiar to children—became powerful messengers. Each kite was carefully crafted and decorated with vibrant designs, along with vital emergency contact information, helpful safety tips, and messages of encouragement.
The activity was more than just recreational; it carried deep educational value. Through fun and interactive sessions, the students taught children what to do in various emergency situations—whether they are lost, in danger, or in need of medical help. They emphasized the importance of knowing key phone numbers, staying calm, and seeking adult assistance when needed.
The symbolism behind the kite was powerful and easy for children to grasp: no matter where you are, help can always reach you—just like a kite flying high in the sky.
Parents, community members, and local educators responded with great enthusiasm and appreciation. The initiative not only provided essential knowledge, but also built trust between students and the local community, promoting a sense of unity, safety, and shared responsibility.
The “My Emergency Kite” project was one of several presented during the FASE Poster Presentation, where student teams showcased socially impactful initiatives that combined creativity with compassion. From health and environmental work to inclusion and public awareness, these projects reflected the program’s goal of shaping well-rounded individuals equipped with both intellect and empathy.
Through this heartfelt initiative, the students not only educated children—they uplifted them, proving that with the right message and method, even the simplest tools can save lives and spark hope.
