The Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Tishk International University (TIU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Public Aid Organization (PAO). This signing ceremony, which took place on the university campus, officially marks the beginning of a new collaborative partnership between the two organizations.

The meeting was attended by key representatives from both TIU and PAO. From TIU, attendees included Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President of TIU; Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Vice President; Mr. Karwan H. Saeed, Vice Dean of FASE; and others. The PAO delegation included Mr. Hogir Chato Shexa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Mr. Mariwan Erbil, Office Manager; and additional staff.

PAO, founded in 1992 by dedicated volunteers, is a non-profit organization that works to improve the living conditions of Iraqis by promoting human rights and building a developed civil society. Guided by the United Nations’ Third Millennium Declaration, PAO runs long-term programs and projects focused on community development. With offices across Iraq, the organization is also involved in elections and climate change policies. PAO has 500 members and has conducted important case studies on peace, social cohesion in Mosul, youth groups, and community volunteering.

As part of the new MoU, PAO will participate in ICABEP 2024, the 6th version of the conference. The chairman of PAO’s board will also give a speech on the organization’s contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Kurdistan region and Iraq. Both parties have expressed a strong interest in collaborating on future joint projects.
