The seminar included the following sessions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Components of Human Security and the significance of each and Discussion and Debate on a People-centric approach to achieve it Human Security.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The concept of human security emphasizes the protection of individuals. <strong><em>It takes as its objectives \u2013 peace, political stability and protection for individuals and communities.<\/em><\/strong> It comprises everything that is <strong><em>\u2018empowering<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 for individuals: <em>human rights, including economic, social and cultural rights, access to education and health care, equal opportunities, good governance, etc. <\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hector Gros Espiell maintains that security should be considered: <strong><em>As<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>awareness of being safe<\/em><\/strong>, the feeling or belief of being protected from danger, as being essential to an understanding of security.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The promotion of human security today, therefore, requires an enhanced exchange of best experiences, practices and initiatives in the fields of scientific research, technological mobilization and innovation policy formulation.
