National Workshop <\/b><\/span>on <\/span>Financial Inclusion: Iraqi Private Bank League<\/b><\/span> with the participation of more than 15 Commercial Banks with <\/span>Central Bank of Iraq <\/b><\/span>on<\/span> 27<\/b><\/span>th<\/sup><\/b><\/span>March 2022 <\/b><\/span>organized by <\/span>Accounting, Banking & Finance Department<\/b><\/span>, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Tishk International University.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop was embellished by Board of Trustees, <\/span>Prof. Idrees Hadi,<\/b><\/span> Mr. Kadhim Namiq<\/b><\/span>, General Manager, Central Bank of Iraq, <\/span>Mr. Sherwan Anwar<\/b><\/span>, General Manager of Iraqi Private Bank League, <\/span>Mr. Amjad Ramazaan,<\/b><\/span> Chartered Accountant & Deputy Managing Director, Kurdistan International Bank, <\/span>Dr. Ghazi Mamand,<\/b><\/span>General Manager, RT Bank, <\/span>Mr. Ahmed Khaleel<\/b><\/span>, Branch Manager, First Iraqi Digital Bank, and other representatives of various Commercial Banks. <\/span>Karwan Sherwani<\/b><\/span>, Dean of Faculty, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Tishk International University, <\/span>Dr. Waqar Ahmad<\/b><\/span>, Head of Accounting, Banking & Finance, Department, Faculty of Administrative sciences and Economics, Tishk International University. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The National Workshop commenced at 10:00 am with National Anthem followed by welcome speech of <\/span>Dr. Waqar Ahmad<\/b><\/span>, Head of Accounting, Banking & Finance, Department, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics, Tishk International University. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the opening ceremony <\/span>Mr. Kadhim Namiq<\/b><\/span>, General Manager, Central Bank of Iraq delivered his speech and spoke about the policies and procedures of central bank. He also spoke about the usage of offers and services offered to the citizens of country and abroad that the citizens can use the banking services on high priority. <\/span>Mr. Namiq<\/b><\/span>explained that how in 2019 the central bank started to create a new framework and transferred the usage of money to another system that started in 2020 and will continue till 2023 to establish the new banking model. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>He mentioned during his speech that the central bank is very focused and dedicated towards the banking policies for the economic development and also central bank is focusing that how consumers can rely on banking sector. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Sherwan Anwar,<\/span><\/b> General Manager of Iraqi Private Banks League address the session and explained the importance of Iraqi private banks league. He stated the activities which IPBL is performing for making banks more stable into the Iraqi market. He mentioned about roles of banks towards the development of financial sectors. During his speech he stated the importance and role of Financial Inclusion in the economic development of the economy. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Ghazi, Mamand,<\/span><\/b> General Manager, RT Bank, address about the financial Inclusion Day that banks should be focused and work together to make the banking sector healthier in Iraqi market. He mentioned that financial inclusion is not a one-day project that can be easily achieved. Therefore, he focused on the reality of current banking situation and explained that the central bank policy should be effective specially related to documentation required and make towards the banks goodwill. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Amjad Ramazaan,<\/span><\/b> Chartered Accountant & Deputy Managing Director, Kurdistan International Bank addressed the importance of financial inclusion in the real world and how there must be an improvement in the bank systems and develop the relationship between banks and people.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The national workshop hosted the two speakers\u2019 representatives Mr. Hamza from Central Banks and Mr. Raid from Cihan Bank respectively for discussing the issues and obstacles that banking sector is facing during the operations and they also talked about KYC\u2019s policies. Then the audiences asked the questions to speakers for more clarification and updates. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The National Workshop was adjourned by Ms. Padasht Abdulqadir, moderator and asked to the guests to visit towards the banks fair and avail the services including free account opening without balance, visa card, master card, loans services gifts, competitions and so on. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
